Thursday morning, August 14 was going to be like any other Capital City Sunrise Rotary Club meeting. Two scholars - Kaleena Guzman (a Don Miner Scholar) and Murphy Rainville (a Randy Daniels Memorial Scholar) were scheduled to attend, but when when we arrived at the CitySide Grille something funny happened...
No power in the restaurant. Kathy and Tim Daniels arrived to honor the newly graduated seniors as did several guests. Members arrived as well amid the confusion.

Mike Dunn to the rescue. Mike volunteered the Duncraft breakroom on Fisherville Road and called to get his staff to get donuts and coffee from Dunkn' Donuts next door and breakfast sandwiches from MacDonalds across the way. The meeting was held on tablecloth covered tables, the pledge was said to an imaginary flag, but all in all the meeting was a success.
