Steve Howard spoke to
the Capital City Club about The Global Aids Alliance. This organization is
working to increase the attention and awareness of the Global HIV/AIDS epidemic
among the people of New
Hampshire. Their grassroots outreach to
the GraniteState includes a
goal of 100 presentations to groups large and small, included a 10 minute
video presentation and sharing materials that include some critical
facts. They also presented a comprehensive proposal to address crisis which
includes, offering science based preventative measures,
increased access to medicine, training more health care workers,
universal public education for vulnerable children in the worlds poorest
nations and curtailing violence against women both at home and abroad.
The Alliance has 2 organizers who are working
from the Greater Manchester AIDS Project to set up and execute presentations
throughout the State of New
Hampshire.
